Chat with Experts: A Doctor’s Journey

The “Chat with Experts: A Doctor’s Journey” event, part of the “Chat with Experts” series, was successfully held on Saturday, April 13th, 2024, at VinUniversity. The session drew significant interest from parents, students, and members of the VinUni Community, both in-person at Room A101 and online via livestream. Designed to provide insights into the demanding yet rewarding medical profession, the event offered attendees a comprehensive view of the challenges and triumphs experienced by medical practitioners.

The event featured a panel of esteemed medical experts and professionals, each bringing unique perspectives and real-life experiences:

Moderator: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Cu Linh, Deputy Director of the VinUni College of Health Sciences, skillfully guided the discussions, ensuring a rich and engaging dialogue.

Panelists:
– Dr. Cao Viet Tung, Deputy Director of the National Children’s Hospital, shared insights into the intense demands of pediatric medicine and the importance of resilience in this field.
– Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thu Anh, Executive Director and Research Leader at the University of Sydney Vietnam, emphasized the value of lifelong learning and research in advancing medical knowledge and practice.
– Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Dung, Director of the Northern Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine at Vinmec and a VinUni parent, discussed the personal and professional sacrifices required to excel in medical practice and the rewards of positively impacting patients’ lives.
– Dr. Nguyen Thi Tuyet, Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at VinUni, provided an in-depth look at the rigorous training and continuous dedication required in residency programs.
– Minh Khoi, a fourth-year medical student at VinUni, offered a student’s perspective, sharing his journey, challenges, and aspirations as an aspiring doctor.

The panelists addressed critical aspects of the medical profession, including the extensive education and training process, the emotional and physical demands of medical practice, and the ethical responsibilities doctors face.
